Little Ol' Us: A Dream Honeymoon

After our wedding reception, my parents had arranged for us to go to a fancy hotel in Emeryville. It was a great room and even had a balcony! They chose Emeryville because it is close to the Oakland airport, where we headed the next morning.

We are SO lucky we got to even go on a Honeymoon let alone a trip to Disneyland! Thanks to generous relatives we had a completely care-free 4 days.

We parked at the airport and were off on our adventure! Every step of the way we celebrated. Found a parking spot @ the airport... Celebrate! Made it to a shuttle to the Southwest terminal... Celebrate! Checked in luggage... Celebrate! and on and on. We were just so happy we didn't encounter many bumps along the road.

Once we landed at the John Wayne Airport we decided to take a shuttle run by people from Greece. At least I think they were Greek. We waited for quite some time until our driver was given the OK by his boss to leave. We were the only passenger besides a man that was going to "the Hilton." We drove right up to a Hilton and our driver got the man's bag out, but the man didn't move. "Halllooooo, sir this is the Hilton" ... "Oh, this isn't my hotel, I said the Hilton Suites!" this was followed my grumbles and slamming of doors. We were lucky our hotel couldn't be confused with any other. After some shady lane changes we arrived at the Disneyland hotel. It was so exciting to be back in the Happiest Place on Earth! During check-in they gave us "Just Married!" pins that we wore religiously everyday.

We relaxed a bit and walked through downtown Disney to the park. We were able to ride every ride and go to every attraction we wanted. There was a lot of people, but everyone was so nice to us. It was so fun to hear congratulations from strangers : )

A few highlights of the trip: 1)The first night we got amazing seating for Fantasmic! It was marvelous, we had reserved seating thanks to MORE generosity that came with a meal of desserts, fruit and cheeses. After many trips to Disneyland and fighting for seats with people closing in on you having a folding chair was such a luxury! 2)World of Color- We got soaked watching that show and if you haven't heard of it and the technology behind it, I would check it out. It was beautiful. I enjoyed that the show focused on more of the Disney films that are not that abundant elsewhere in the park like the Lion King and Pochantas (two of my all time favs). 3)Our hotelroom at the Disneyland Resort had a view over-loooking the Neverland pool and the headboard of the bed had Cinderella's castle on it that lit up with twinkly lights, the lamp played, "A dream is a wish your heart makes," and we got their turn-down service every night with Disney chocolates.
