Zoo trip

Last weekend we drove up North to Hogle Zoo! This was our second visit there together and this time was so much cooler than before! The previous time we went during the winter and all the animals were either sleeping or tucked away in a corner of their enclosures. NOT THIS TIME! All the animals were out and about.

We went with my pre-veterinary club to see the new improvements to the vet hospital. It was really neat to see behind the scenes and have the head DVM as our tour guide.
She was very direct and gave lots of great advice for a future in veterinary medicine.

After out tour we were free to wander about the place. However, we only had about 2 hours because we had to be back in Provo for work. It was actually so fun rushing from exhibit to exhibit and spending more time when something interesting was happening. There was no "shopper's legs" as we like to call it, no complaining and no extra money spent!

Trevor's favorite part of the entire visit was this guy! He was fascinating!

The orangutans were fun too, the one on the wood there was playing with a stray peacock and the one in the bottom right of this photo wrapped itself in a sheet (looked like a little grammy), cutest thing!

Neither of us had ever been to a place with captive wolves before and we loved them.

These tigers are always so sleepy!

By having the vet tell us more details about the animals we were able to walk around identifying the animals by name and seeing little unique things that she had told us. It added another dynamic to our visit and totally made it worth the drive and admission!
