I met Surya Bonaly on Tuesday. She is a 5x European ladies figure skating champion, went to the Olympics 3 times and performs all over the world in ice shows. This morning we coached students side by side! She was so nice and has a great personality. I used to watch her skate when I was little oooing and ahhing in amazement at the things she could do. She is one of a handful of ice skaters that can do a back-flip on ice and the move I thought was the most impressive was rotating splits from one end of the rink to the other. Needless to say I have been a little star struck the past few days. Look her up on youtube to watch some of her most memorable routines : )
