Land of Lakes

This was our first trip to Boomer Lake, the closest lake to our apartment and the biggest in Stillwater. Oklahoma has many lakes scattered all over, something I didn't know when we first arrived. Lots of them are man-made in order to ensure a lasting water supply. Oklahoma has been in an extreme drought for a few years, but thankfully is starting to bounce back this year.

Boomer lake is very people friendly with a walking path around the entire lake. There is even a plateau that stretches out into the middle of the lake. We took our time mainly on that stretch. At the very end there is a bench where you can sit and enjoy the breeze. It was pretty windy out, but still such a good day.
He loves to be close!

Being goofy

Settled right it on top of Trev

Buddy living on the edge! The water is a rusty color due to Stillwater's red dirt.

Walking back to the car after a wonderful day enjoying the sunshine : )
